My name is Zoey and I am helping my mom spread the word on how easy online activism can be! I'm a cat but I love people, so I have listed some ways that you can help humanity!
Below are websites that can help you become an activist
These sites give you the opportunity to find in-person
volunteer and activist opportunities
Volunteer Match allows you to set up an account and find volunteer opportunities near you. Learn more about how to use the site and then get started volunteering with great organizations right away!
Idealist can help you find internships, jobs, charity events and volunteer opportunities with nonprofit organizations. Learn more about how to use Idealist and set up a profile here or check out their blogs here.
The Literacy Site is part of the GreaterGood network, which aims to use "small actions to create big results." You can click on 9 links a day to raise money for nonprofit organizations, sign petitions, and buy products that benefit charities.
Care2 is very similar to GreaterGood in that you can click to raise money for various causes & sign petitions but it also is a social networking site where you can create a profile, join groups, and earn points for each action you take that can later be redeemed to donate to causes of your choice. You can find Angela's Care2 profile page here.
Change.org is also a social networking site, but it focuses exclusively on petitions. You can start a petition of your own or sign petitions that can influence legislators, corporations or individuals to create social change. Learn more here or check out some of their past successful campaigns here.
